Officers
Regular Officer Training Plan
The Regular Officer Training Plan is the entry plan
to attend the Royal Military College of Canada or a
Canadian university to achieve your bachelor's degree.
Under this plan, the cost of tuition, uniforms, books,
instruments and other essentials fees are borne by the
Canadian Forces. Medical and dental care, are also provided.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly salary
and are responsible for costs such as lodging and meals.
Upon awarded of an accepted bachelor degree, you will
be granted a commission as an officer in the Canadian
Forces. Graduates of the plan are obliged to serve a
minimum of five years in the Regular (full time) component
of the Canadian Forces.
Direct Entry Officer Plan
This plan is offered to university graduates with a
minimum of a three-year bachelor's degree in an acceptable
discipline from a Canadian university. If selected,
basic officer training, second language training and
occupation training will follow before employment at
a unit.
Continuing Education Officer Training
Plan
This plan is for those who do not hold a university
degree and wish to become an officer. You will be required
to commit to completing a bachelor's degree within your
first nine years of employment. There are a limited
number of entry positions available through this program.
Your local Recruiting Centre will advise you on current
availability. If selected, Basic Officer Training, Second
Language Training and Classification Training will follow.
